I’m excited to share the news about my newest book, Jason Belongs: The Story of Jason Schachter McKinney.

I wrote this book in collaboration with Jason McKinney, the subject of the story. The wonderful illustrations are by Isabel Muñoz. The book will be
available November 4, 2025, but you can pre-order it now, here .

Jason and I had fun telling his story together. It’s a happy story, but it also raises some important and serious ideas. As readers, we share Jason’s feelings and his journey as he figures out what’s important and meaningful to him about his Black and Jewish heritages.
